..BUT, before we even get into the details of all this let me just tell you a little story about myself and exactly how all of this began!
It all started one day when I was taking my son to the Home Depot of all places to get materials for building him a treehouse I had been promising him all school year. Here it was summer break already for the little guy and I hadn't even started it yet because of all the overtime I had been putting into my landscaping J.O.B. I remember thinking, if only I could have more time to spend with my family! I can't say that my wife was too happy about my 12 and 14 hour days neither and think she was tired of the fact that I was ALWAYS tired!
Anyhow, here I was pulling into the Home Depot one fine Saturday afternoon in my old beat up 1999 Dodge Ram truck when all of a sudden some hotshot in a orange Lamborghini pulled up right next to me!
I thought man I'll NEVER own a great ride like that!.. Anyways what in the heck was he going to pick up at Home Depot in a car like this?? I'd be afraid to put a scratch on it!
I don't think the guy even paid attention to or noticed my dropped jaw and dumb blank expression on my face while starring at his car, since the girl just coming out of the store caught his eye with her million dollar smile and batting wink. I suppose he was use to it, but man I felt like I just got dropped into a movie set or somthing.. This was unreal, especially in my town!
Anyways I grabbed my son's hand and started my way into the store to get our building materials, just kind of looking back at that car and then the hotshot out in the parking lot getting the phone number of that girl
that just winked at him, or whatever he was talking to her about.. CRAZY!
Once we got inside the store my mind was simply somewhere else after that little experience and I couldn't even remember the dimmensions of the wood I needed for my son's treehouse!.. After a bit I got my head back into the game and was able to get my entire list together for our little weekend project and I pulled around to get the materials that just maxed out my credit card loaded up into my truck.
My son was sure excited, and back to the house we drove!
Once we got back home I drove through the lawn to cross into the back yard and unloaded all of the material. It was a beautiful day and so we started like a father and son team to build a treehouse.
About half way through the project I realized that I had miscalculated the amount of wood planks I needed, but decided just to wait and pick up the rest next weekend since my credit card was already maxed out anyways.
The new week came and went and my poor son was going crazy about getting his treehouse finished, so off we went back to the Home Depot to get the rest of the wood planks needed to "git er' done".
Now here's where it gets stranger than fiction again because the same hotshot I had seen the week before pulled up next to me AGAIN, but this time with a BMW! I mean come on!! What are the odds?..
I couldn't stand it!! I had to know what in the world this guy did for a living, so I embarrassingly asked him, sir I'm sorry to ask this but I seen you last week in a Lamborghini and now I see you in this fancy BMW.. WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO? I mean you just look way too young, how old are you?
He said oh yeah, I just got these cars last month and have been breaking them in. My name is John and yes I'm 33, relatively young I guess (laughing). I'm a retired police officer.
I said, retired police officer at the age of 33? What did you do; hit up a drug cartel and run off with the powder or something?
He said, oh no (laughing at my comment) nothing like that. I started up a website a couple years ago and after 6 months of it being online I was able to retire from being a police officer.
Now you have to realize where I was coming from at the time as I had no computer skills and didn't know a thing about websites or the internet other than Google was a search engine! I figured this guy must have
been the founder of Google or somthing big, but when I asked him exactly what it was his website was, he said all his website did was sold other companies products or services automatically for a commission.
At this point in our conversation I began salivating like a kid in a candy store and I wanted to know a whole lot more. I asked him if it cost alot or was difficult to setup.
He said no, not really because I actually paid a web developer to set it all up for me since I do not have any computer or programming skills of my own.
Now of course my first reaction was how in the world can I get a website setup like yours and how long will it take before I actually start making money with it?
I asked him if he would be willing to tell me a bit more information so I could do exactly what he was to be making all this money, but he just shook his head and said I'm sorry but no because it would most likely eat into my profits if I did.
I just sighed gracefully and told him I understood his position.
I left the Home Depot that day with a new goal. I was dog determined to start making money on the internet just like this guy in the orange Lamborghini. Little did I know I was in for a long bumpy ride ahead….
For the next six months I searched the internet every night for every possible way to make money online I could possibly find. I purchased every product I could get my hands on that guaranteed I would make money. The problem was that all I ended up doing was spending money, and I never made one red cent.
I got suckered into buying every get rich quick scheme there was. Not a single one of these dumb programs worked. They all got my money, but I certainly didn’t get much of anything in return.
I was so fed up with not making money after several months of trying that I gave up and decided that maybe it’s just not in my deck of cards to make money online. I came to the conclusion that I would be a hard labor landscape worker for the rest of my life.
So life went on and I got more frustrated with my J.O.B. (just over broke) every passing day. Until one day when my supervisor called me into his nice air conditioned office and told me “Matthew we are going to be changing your landscaping maintainance route” This was a shock to me as I thought I would be working the same route for the next ten years.
The one thing I actually liked about my job was my current route. I knew a lot of the people I did lawn maintainance for and everyone was friendly. So anyways I went home that night not knowing for sure what new route layed ahead for me. My supervisor must have thought it would be funny to keep me in the dark about it until morning.
When I went into work the next morning I got some pretty good news.
I was actually being transferred to the newest development in town. I would now be doing lawn maintainance for all of Bridshire Estates, the new ritzy, high end part of town! I guess my supervisor liked the way I cut grass :-)
So I set off for my first day of cutting, edging and trimming in Bridshire. All of the houses were actually huge mansions! It was around 4:00 and I was almost finished for the day when I got to the biggest house in Bridshire. The house looked more like a fairytale castle than a home!
As I walked up to the gate I noticed a orange Lamborghini to the back of the driveway. This looked like the same exact car that the guy I met a short while back was driving. As I turned around to get my weed eater I heard someone shout out my name.
I glanced back and saw it was the same guy that was at the Home Depot with the BMW and Lamborghini. He came jogging down the big long drive way shouting.... HEY MATT!!!! (I thought to myself gee, how'd he even remember my name!)
When he got up to the gate he yelled over to his security guard to open it. “Yup this guy had his very own security guard on his property. Talk about being loaded!”
He walked through the gate and said “Hey, it's John. Do you remember me? We met at the Home Depot.” I said yeah I remember we met a short while ago.
You could hear the excitement in his voice and I knew
he was really excited about something.
He started going on and on about his online business, speaking so fast that I could barely comprehend what he was saying, he nearly sounded like an auctioneer auctioning somthing off.
I missed most of what he said until I heard him say. “Matthew, I’m going to help you do the same thing I do.” This really got my attention. I asked him, you're serious?
He told me that ever since we last talked he had a guilty feeling conscious for giving me the cold shoulder. He went on to explain that he was worried that if other people did the same thing he was doing his income would begin to decline, so he was very secretive about giving out any details of how he was making such good money on the internet.
